Translation: O Mankind, submit to your Lord Who created you and those who were before you; in this way only you may expect to save yourselves.

Translit: Ya ayyuha alnnasu oAAbudoo rabbakumu allathee khalaqakum waallatheena min qablikum laAAallakum tattaqoona

Translation: Though you had committed a wicked transgression, yet We pardoned you even after that so that you might become grateful.

Translit: Thumma AAafawna AAankum min baAAdi thalika laAAallakum tashkuroona

Translation: Remember that (at that very time, when you were committing this gross iniquity) We gave Moses the Book and the criterion of right and wrong so that you might be guided aright.

Translit: Waith atayna moosa alkitaba waalfurqana laAAallakum tahtadoona

Translation: Then We raised you to life so that you might become grateful for this favour.71

Translit: Thumma baAAathnakum min baAAdi mawtikum laAAallakum tashkuroona

Translation: Call to mind the time when We raised above you the Tur and made a covenant with you, saying, "Hold fast to the Book which We are giving you and bear in mind the commands and precepts contained therein. It is expected that this will lead you on to the paths of virtue and piety."

Translit: Waith akhathna meethaqakum warafaAAna fawqakumu alttoora khuthoo ma ataynakum biquwwatin waothkuroo ma feehi laAAallakum tattaqoona
